Mission

Progressive Indiana promotes social, economic, and environmental justice through grassroots efforts.

Principles

• We encourage a world where globalization is not about homogeneity and exploitation, but rather, about diversity and cooperation.
• We support local, regional and global struggles against exploitation and oppression.
• We encourage, facilitate, and support the creation of independent news gathering and reporting.
• We encourage all people to view themselves as news makers, and to look for news sources and inspiration within their daily lives.
• We are committed to providing open access for all community members, regardless of their technical or financial standing, and to fair and accurate reporting.
• We involve volunteer participants organized along anti-authoritarian principles of open and transparent decision-making processes, including open public meetings; principled decision making; and the elimination of hierarchies.

The Forum - Editorial Policy

Progressive Indiana Inc. is dedicated to open publishing as a means of creating a transparent community forum for events and issues of social concern in Indiana and around the world. Anyone can post an eyewitness or investigative report, news analysis, opinions, or video or audio clips of events to the newswire. Views expressed by participants are not necesarily endorsed by Progressive Indiana Inc.

The Progressive Indiana Staff checks the newswire regularly for stories to feature on The Forum's main page. Features may be edited for spelling, format, and clarity. We expect all contributions to The Forum to meet one or more of the following guidelines, and will assess possible features according to them:

• timely reports and opinions on local issues
• reports and opinions that contain picture, video or audio
• reports and opinions regarding stories as reported in other media
• reports and opinions that have rejected in other media
• well-researched reports and opinions
• upcoming events
• reports and opinions not yet reported in other media

If you would like to submit an article, event, or report you can either create a new user account and make use of the Create Content link that will appear in the left sidebar, or you can send the article to articles /\t progressiveindiana.org including your name and possibly the organization you represent.

Pictures of Indiana

Progressive Indiana also accepts photographs of various places located in Indiana. These pictures are featured on the top right corner of the site. If you have a picture you'd like to contribute, please send them as an attachment to picsofindy /\t progressiveindiana.org (change the " /\t " to "@").
